Heart Link was set up in 1981 as a
support group for parents and families who have a child with a
heart defect. 25 years on, the charity has done better than
anyone could have imagined, raising over £2.5million to
transform the children’s heart unit at Glenfield Hospital (GH)
into one of the best in the country. |

Leicester & Leicestershire Animal Aid
Association (LAA) is a sanctuary and rehoming centre for unwanted and
stray dogs and cats with accommodation for up to 75 dogs and 35 cats.
LAA was founded in 1956 by Dorothea
Farndon.
Throughout its existence LAA has helped many thousands of animals, who
would otherwise have faced a bleak future.
